This artwork reflects Jacob’s departure from Beersheba toward Haran, a journey marked by family conflict, exile, and divine providence. In the Genesis narrative, this solitary road becomes the setting for God’s covenant reassurance, showing that the Lord’s promise follows Jacob beyond the safety of home. The stars above the patriarch echo the covenant hope first given to Abraham and carried forward through Isaac to Jacob.
